On a personal note

I’m working back towards The Future We Deserve, my (and your) book project. When we started The Future We Deserve, I had no idea what it was really about. I wanted to collect short, intense essays about the future and basically just see what happened if we took a “with enough eyes, all bugs are shallow” approach to futurism.
What came out of the essays submitted was something I hadn’t expected – a radicalism of personal insight as people talked about where the future touched them, their own personal insight into what matters in life, and therefore in our future lives. With hindsight it should have been obvious that perspective is the key to nearly all thinking but every time the net is cast wide, we surprise ourselves in new ways.
People are brilliant.
So I’m digging in and bedding down some deep ideas about the future we deserve and attempting to free myself up from my old thinking about the future and how it is formed, so that we can finish the book and move on to dreaming some stuff into reality.
Soon. It’s coming.
