Five thorns and four seeds

These are the cores of the pieces I’m writing for The Future We Deserve.
The five thorns
Climate
Technological risk including small group destructive power and monsanto
Poverty
Political violence including genocide and economic violence
The big one: governance
The four seeds
Population stops growing as infant mortality drops
Cheap solar panels, wind energy and so on are possible
Almost none of the material resources or energy we consume is converted directly into human welfare
Seven billion people with access to education: we are about to get 5x smarter as a species
By the way, I’m also going to abandon much of the silence that I’ve maintained since 2002 or 2003 about why I’m working on all this. I’ve tried to keep to Buckminster Fuller’s rule about not talking about the why but letting the artifacts (like the hexayurt and SCIM) do the talking. But I need to inspire more and that means sharing the hidden side.
They say that work is love in action.
Love the thorns and seeds metaphor.
Looking forward to reading more about your motivations. As long as it doesn’t involve “shave your head and give away all your money”. Though come to think of it, neither of those would make that much difference any more .
