Perversely, I want a typewriter

This Worth 1000 thread just hits the spot.
I’ve got these tools: new version of WP, a digital camera (first one I’ve owned), the mac, the broadband – an idea can go from my head to the other side of the world in moments, in days turn into a product.
And I find myself wanting to put a stack of paper and a metal contraption on another desk in the corner of the room, in exactly the same process as The Guy I Almost Was where Patrick Farley discusses going retro in 1994 as a response to the high costs of living and the soulless nature of technology.
Farley went back to the tech, and we got Delta Thrives, possibly the only genuinely startlingly original artwork I’ve ever seen on in the formats which only the web supports, not a photograph or a movie but something genuinely fitted for the medium. Mans’s a genius.
But I still want a typewriter. I’ll take pictures of the pages which say good things and post them. Here.
WriteRoom.
Seriously.
I think it may even have an option to go ‘ping’ towards the end of a line.
