• Keeping people at home through a pandemic

    TV. Round-the-clock, first-episode-to-current-date marathons of:

    * Friends
    * Battlestar Galactica
    * Star Trek
    * Grey’s Anatomy
    * Buffy the Vampire Slayer
    * Firefly

    and so on. I guess daytime soaps etc. may have a role, but I don’t know what they are called.

    I think on those channels participating in the national “vegathon” news ought to be restricted to either “things are fine you can come out now” or “things are fine, don’t worry.” Definitely no ratings-grabbing footage of dancing arrows showing how the contagion is spreading. In a pandemic, apathy saves lives.

    As long as people are at home watching the telly, the aren’t outside infecting each other.

    flattr this!
