Can help with design and prototype.
Might first suggest turning the seat around to allow a more stable trike design, easy (triangular) windshield, and one motor drive.
Let me know how you wish to proceed.

Hey guys,

I had almost the same idea for making a neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV). I am an electrical engineer and I build custom electric bicycles. I envisioned the rear wheels each being a bicycle wheel with a 1000 watt hub motor - see Golden Motor products for an idea of what I mean.

I'm the lead designer for the Free Charge Controller project (http://www.freechargecontroller.org) and I'd love to help you out with this project. I think you are on the right track with the mechanical simplicity. If you build a mechanical prototype, I'd love to help you out with the electronics.

Do you have a discussion group for this project?

Cheers!
