I am an electrical engineer and I build custom electric bicycles. I envisioned the rear wheels each being a bicycle wheel with a 1000 watt hub motor - see Golden Motor products for an idea of what I mean. I'm the lead designer for the Free Charge Controller project (http://www.freechargecontroller.org) and I'd love to help you out with this project.
