The Hexayurt reminds me of a hogan. I have a place up in the mountains in southern New Mexico and would like to build one there. It looks as if I could build this myself.
Where can I get one?
Can anyone help me with this?

Is it possible to join 2 6' regular hexayurts on one side by cutting out doors in both hexayurts? Would this compromise the structural integrity and insulation? Also, is using Perma-R instead of Tuff-R or Therma Max acceptable? http://www.lowes.com/pd_15358-23946-78910_0__?productId=3014195&Ntt=insulation+sheathing&pl=1&currentURL=%2Fpl__0__s%3FNtt%3Dinsulation%2Bsheathing&facetInfo=

I sooo admire what you are doing. My wish would be for a hexayurt greenhouse, any ideas? On limited, stressed income so would love to put one up and feed my family and more.

Is there a market for a more permanent hexiyurt? We are looking into building them are not sure if there is a demand for something other than a temporary shelter.

Heya Vinay,
great meeting you and great seeing your vision alive @Burning Ice #4 in Brussels.
It's a pleasure to film the hexayurts - since they are not only useFUL, but as well beautyFUL.
...you told me one second ago: "There's a new little video on the site, check it out. But my camera is not a 5D, sorry."
Do NOT invest in a 5D.
Invest in a wide angle adapter, so we see ALL of a hexayurt when outside looking at it.
(in a small space that is, like here, in Brussels, in the middle of the city)
Cheers and stay in touch
xo

Hello,

I'm a graduate architecture student at North Dakota State University conducting a design research project involving humanitarian aid. I am using Hexayurt as one of my cases for research. A couple questions that I have are about how many people it takes to build a hexayurt, and how long it takes them to set it up? Any information you can give me will be helpful.

Obviously my last comment was about the new overhaul reached from your tweet, not this page where I now see the comments displayed.

Vinay,

You asked for feedback on the site's appearance, these are my gross reactions.
The background image makes 90% of the text unreadable. The white on green text while not unreadable does repel the eye. It reminds me of a MacDonald's "dining room" where it's all decorated to make you want to leave after ten minutes, only in this case it would make all but the youngest and most eagle-eyed visitor click-through much sooner than that!
Your content is powerful, let it stand out! Go with a simple, neutral layout.
Let out your inner Scott man!

Living in Haiti - been thinking along the same lines. Tarps and tents way too short term and expensive. Concrete block homes too expensive and takes too long. We need something fast.

Our village of about 5,000 took in an additional 700 I figure. All living with relatives or friends. Based on there being another 700,000+ people living outside I figure we need to take at least another 1,000. No room left in homes.

Am looking into the spray concrete products to do ferro-cement. If you want to come and try some things out let me know.
